Merit Coffee is one of many coffee shops that are a must if you are in town visiting or a local. It originated in San Antonio as "Local Coffee," but made it's way into several cities here in Texas. The culture and atmosphere in this shop is always a treat and you can count on an amazing Mocha Latte art.
Greater Good Coffee Roasters have made a name for themselves in the coffee culture here in Austin. They originally started in Dripping Springs with their coffee shop/coffee roasting setup and have recently opened up a shop on the East Side. Their warm, well lit, and natual wood building interior is one that is relaxing to come to and they have a Training Lab where you can pay to have a professional Barista show you how to Roast, Pour Latte Art, and pull an espresso shot.
Cartel Coffee Lab is relatively new to Austin, but they have definitely proven themselves early with their coffee shop as one of the best! Their awesome interior, wonderful Baristas and killer latte art makes their shop as a must visit while in town.
Cuvee Coffee is an Austin favorite for their in house roasted beans that you can find in many work place coffee makers, grocery stores and their awesome location on the East Side. You can never go wrong with visiting this place for a quick latte and tasty pastry!
One of my favorite details that I look for in a coffee shop is how Hipster they are because it means that they will have a simple/modern interior. Not only is Flat Track this, but they share a space with a bicycle shop. I love everything about Flat Track and is one that everyone needs to check out while in Austin.
Figure 8! On the East Side, their lovely shop in the middle of a neighborhood has such roots and culture in it, making it one of my favorites in Austin! You can always count on good music playing, wonderful Cortado and Latte art, and a simple interior
Intelligentsia is new to Austin and I couldn't be more thrilled! They started in Chicago, made their way to Los Angeles and now in Austin. Their roasting is on point and their latte art and drinks never disappoint!
LeverCraft has one of the coolest stories of how they got started. The owner drove from Austin to Oklahoma and purchased a trailer that was in the worst condition, got it road worthy on location and pulled it to Austin to start renovating process. The owner has a heart for coffee and has some amazing drinks that you can't find anywhere else in town. Check them out for sure!
